Description

GDF3 (Growth/Differentiation Factor 3) is a member of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily, and is involved in regulating stem cell differentiation, tissue patterning, and embryonic development. GDF3 is particularly important in the development of the early embryo, influencing mesoderm and ectoderm formation, and left-right axis patterning. In stem cells GDF3 has been shown to modulate pluripotency, with its expression being critical for maintaining the undifferentiated state. GDF3 also interacts with other signaling pathways, including those of BMPs (bone morphogenetic proteins), to fine-tune cellular processes such as bone formation. In adults, GDF3 is involved in wound healing, the inflammatory response, and skeletal muscle remodeling.

IHC-P - Quality tested

Recommended Usage

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded immunohistochemical staining. For immunohistochemistry, a concentration range of 1.0 - 10.0 µg/mL is suggested. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Application Notes

For use in immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue (IHC-P), it is recommended to perform antigen retrieval using Citrate Buffer, 10X (Cat. No. 420902) or Tris-EDTA pH 9.0 Antigen Retrieval Buffer (10X) (Cat. No. 422704).

This product is not recommended for use in Western Blot (WB), immunocytochemistry (ICC) or intracellular flow cytometry (ICFC).
